7 Family Values
These are the attitudes of our heart as we learn to love and serve with each other in the StoneWater Family.
1. Put the goals and interests of others above my own.
“Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others.”- Philippians 2:3-4 (ESV)
“A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.” - John 13:34-35 (ESV)
Sounds simple but is difficult to follow because of selfishness.
We all struggle with selfishness.
God calls us to live selfless lives.
We humble ourselves and serve like Christ. (Phil 2)
2. Live an honest and open life before others.
“Therefore, having put away falsehood, let each one of you speak the truth with his neighbor, for we are members one of another.”-Ephesians 4:25 (ESV)
“But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin.” -1 John 1:7 (ESV)
There are no secrets at StoneWater Church.
God can’t heal you from your mess until you share your mess.
You can’t get fixed until you admit you are broken.
StoneWater is a place for broken people.
3. Give and receive Scriptural correction.
“And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, 25 not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.” -Hebrews 10:24-25 (ESV)
“But exhort one another every day, as long as it is called “today,” that none of you may be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin.” -Hebrews 3:13 (ESV)
No one likes to be told what to do or that they are wrong (pride).
We all have spiritual blind spots and need people that love us enough to tell us the truth.
We have to trust people enough to accept correction (trust they love you).
We give correction with gentleness and love.
4. Clear up relationships.
“So if you are offering your gift at the altar and there remember that your brother has something against you, 24 leave your gift there before the altar and go. First be reconciled to your brother, and then come and offer your gift.” -Matthew 5:23-24 (ESV)
“bearing with one another and, if one has a complaint against another, forgiving each other; as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive.” -Colossians 3:13 (ESV)
Protects the unity of the church.
In any family, you will have conflict.
The more you love someone, the more conflict you may have.
Conflict is not good or bad; it is not being able to resolve it that’s bad.
Most conflict is because of miscommunication. Sometimes conflict is because of sin.
Clearing up relationships will make the relationship stronger than before.
5. Participate in ministry.
As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God's varied grace -1 Peter 4:10 (ESV)
“from whom the whole body, joined and held together by every joint with which it is equipped, when each part is working properly, makes the body grow so that it builds itself up in love.” -Ephesians 4:16 (ESV)
We are not a sit and soaker church but a go and doer church.
We share the weight of ministry.
God has given you gifts, abilities, experiences, skills, passions to be used.
Pastors are equippers and the people are ministers.
God created you with a sweet spot for ministry, don’t stop serving before you find your sweet spot.
6. Support the work financially.
“On the first day of every week, each of you is to put something aside and store it up, as he may prosper, so that there will be no collecting when I come.” -1 Corinthians 16:2 (ESV)“The point is this: whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. 7 Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. “-2 Corinthians 9:6-7
It’s the church family’s responsibility to support the work financially.
Often those outside the faith (family) think the church is trying to take something ($) from them. We don’t want anything from them, but we want something for them.
We believe and teach biblical tithing
There are multiple ways to give at StoneWater Church. 70% of the church gives online. (Black boxes, online, text to give)
10% of all that’s given is given to missions and Church Planting.
7. Follow spiritual leadership within Scriptural limits.
Remember your leaders, those who spoke to you the word of God. Consider the outcome of their way of life, and imitate their faith. -Hebrews 13:17
“Likewise, you who are younger, be subject to the elders. Clothe yourselves, all of you, with humility toward one another, for “God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.”
Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time he may exalt you, casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you.” -1 Peter 5:5-7
God sets up authority structures to teach us how to love our leaders and also trust God.
Parent/Child, Boss/Employee, Husband/Wife, Government/Citizens and in this also applies to the church.
As you serve, show your leader love by following their leadership.
Pray for them, encourage them, and show up ready and prepared.
If your leader ever asks you to do anything outside of Scripture, please share it with a pastor for protection and counsel.

8 Essential Beliefs
What We Believe:
8 Essential Beliefs
In our essential beliefs, we must have unity
In our non-essential beliefs, we must show charity (love).
THE ESSENTIALS WE BELIEVE:
1. ABOUT GOD
God is the Creator and Ruler of the universe. He has eternally existed in three personalities: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. These therefore are co-equal and are one God. (Genesis 1:1, 26, 27; 3:22; Psalm 90:2; Matthew 28:19; I Peter 1:2; II Corinthians 13:14)
2. ABOUT JESUS CHRIST
Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He is co-equal with the Father. Jesus lived a sinless human life and offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all people by dying on a cross. He arose from the dead after three days to demonstrate His power over sin and death. He ascended to Heaven's glory and will return again someday to earth to reign as King of kings, and Lord of lords. (Matthew l:22, 23; Isaiah 9:6; John 1:1-5, 14:10-30; Hebrews 4:14, 15; I Corinthians 15:3, 4; Romans 1:3,4; Acts 1:9-11; I Timothy 6:14, 15; Titus 2:13.)
3. ABOUT THE HOLY SPIRIT
The Holy Spirit is co-equal with the Father and the Son of God. He is present in the world to make men aware of their need for Jesus Christ. He also lives in every Christian from the moment of salvation. He provides the Christian with power for living, understanding of spiritual truth, and guidance in doing what is right. He gives every believer a spiritual gift when they are saved. As Christians, we seek to live under His control daily.
(II Corinthians 3:17; John 16:7-13, 14:16, 17:3. Acts 1:8; I Corinthians 2:12, 3:16; Ephesians 1:13; Galatians 5:25)
4. ABOUT THE BIBLE
The Bible is God's Word to us. It was written by human authors, under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit. It is the supreme source of truth for Christian beliefs and living. Because it is inspired by God, it is the truth without any mixture of error. (II Timothy 3:16; II Peter 1:20, 21; II Timothy l:13; Psalm ll9:105, 160, 12:6; Proverbs 30:5)
5. ABOUT HUMAN BEINGS
People are made in the spiritual image of God, to be like Him in character. People are the supreme object of God's creation. Although every person has tremendous potential for good, all of us are marred by an attitude of disobedience toward God called "sin" This attitude separates people from God and causes many problems in life. (Genesis 1:27; Psalm 8:3 -6; Isaiah 53:6a; Romans 3:23; Isaiah 59:1,2)
6. ABOUT SALVATION
Salvation is God's free gift to us but we must accept it. We can never make up for our sin by self-improvement or good works. Only by trusting in Jesus Christ as God's offer of forgiveness can anyone be saved from sin's penalty. When we turn from our self-ruled life and turn to Jesus in faith we are saved. Eternal life begins the moment one receives Jesus Christ into his life by faith. (Romans 6:23; Ephesians 2:8,9; John 14:6,1:12; Titus 3:5; Galatians 3:26; Romans 5:1)
7. Eternal Security
Because God gives us eternal life through Jesus Christ, the true believer is secure in that salvation for eternity. If you have been genuinely saved, you cannot “lose” it. Salvation is maintained by the grace and power of God, not by the self-effort of the Christian. It is the grace and keeping power of God that gives us this security.
(John 10:29; 2 Timothy 1:12; Hebrews 7:25, 10:10,14; 1 Peter 1:3-5)
8. Eternity
People were created to exist forever. We will either exist eternally separated from God by sin, or eternally with God through forgiveness and salvation. To be eternally separated from God is Hell. To be eternally in union with Him is eternal life. Heaven and Hell are real places of eternal existence.
(John 3:16; John 14:17; Romans 6:23; Romans 8:17-18; Revelation 20:15; 1 Cor. 2:7-9)

Our Mission
To REACH people with the life changing message of Jesus Christ and EQUIP them to become committed disciple-makers of Him.
The tendency of a church is to focus on either reaching or equipping. We must do both at the same time. Just like both wings of an airplane are equally important, both wings of our mission (reaching/equipping) are equally important.
Reaching people for Jesus is the most selfless thing that a church can do.
We believe Hell is real, and people who die without Jesus go there.
We also believe that the enemy, Satan, causes “hell” in people’s lives, and through Jesus people can experience salvation and freedom.
We will do anything outside of sin to reach people for Jesus.
We will equip people to be disciple makers who in turn reach people for Jesus.
¾ of our discipleship strategy involves equipping (Get In → Get Healthy → Get Strong → Get Going)
We are a church of “go and doers” not “sit and soakers”.
Our mission will not change, but the methods to accomplish the mission will change.
Everything we do is filtered through this mission.
Matt 28:18-20 / Mark 16:15-18 / Acts 1:8 / Luke 19:10
Eph 4:11-16 / James 1:22-25 / Col 1:28-29 / 1 Peter 2:2 / John 13:34-35
Eph 5:1-2 / Gal 5:16 / Mark 12:30-31 / 2 Tim 3:16-17

Our Calling
Calling: The calling of a church gives personality to the church family and color to the vision.
We are called to...
Reach MEN: By reaching men we can reach the entire family. (1 Corinthians 16:13)
Equip FAMILIES: We want to be a church known for producing healthy families. (Deuteronomy 6:4-7)
Plant CHURCHES: We want tore produce what God has done in Granbury all over the world. (Mark 16:15)
1. Reach Men
In recent times, culture has deemed the church for women and children. In the bible, we see strong men sacrificing their lives for the message of Jesus. The best way that we can minister to a wife is to have her husband “on fire” and in love with Jesus Christ. We are man friendly and woman honoring.
It makes practical sense to go after men.
If a child is the first person in a household to become a Christian, there is a 3.5% probability everyone else in the household will follow.
If the mother is the first to become a Christian, there is a 17% probability everyone else in the household will follow.
If the father is first, there is a 93% probability everyone else in the household will follow.
If a mother does not go to church, but a father does, a minimum of two-thirds of their children will end up attending church.
In contrast, if a father does not go to church, but the mother does, on average two-thirds of their children will not attend church.
If a father does not go to church, even if his wife does, only 1 child in 50 will become a regular worshiper as an adult.
If a father does go regularly, regardless of what the mother does, between 65-75% of their children will attend church as adults.
When both parents attend Bible study (small group) in addition to the Sunday service, 72% of their children attend Bible study (small group) when grown.
When only the father attends Bible Study, 55% of the children attend when grown.
When only the mother attends Bible Study, 15% of the children attend when grown.
When neither parent attends Bible Study, only 6% of the children attend when grown.
2. Equip Families
Families are the very basic building block of society. Family struggle with knowing how to live as God honoring families. How do you live in the world and not become a part of it? As a church, we will equip families to win at life. We will accomplish this by partnering with parents as they raise their kids. We will offer classes, workshops, training, and entire sermon series that teach bible truths about marriage, parenting, identity, and leaving a godly legacy. We will use ceremony to call parents and families into maturity. We want to be the first place that families call when they need help with their family.
3. Plant Churches
The single greatest method of reaching people for Jesus is planting churches. Healthy things reproduce. We believe that healthy churches reproduce. As a church, we devote financial and people resources to planting churches. We will use multiple methods to plant different kinds of churches that all have the goal of reaching and equipping people for Jesus.

How it all started
Our Story
The Big Ask
It all began on a road trip to pick up a motorcycle that Jeremy bought on EBay. On that road trip in September 2003, Joey shared with his brother, Jeremy, that God was leading him to start a church. He wanted Jeremy to consider joining him.
The Need
Jeremy and Joey both saw the need for churches that could reach out to young families. They also had a heart to see men “step up” and become leaders in their families. They felt that churches that could reach men and minister to families would be able to truly impact the world. They also were thinking big. They did not want to simply start one church, but felt that God was calling them to start one church that would be a catalyst for starting many churches.
Dreams Become Reality
After almost two years of praying and planning, Jeremy, Joey and their families moved to Granbury in June 2005 to start StoneWater Church.
The following month StoneWater Church entered the community parade to give away water bottles and invite cards to a Sneak Preview service that was held at the square where 100 people attended the weekend of July 4, 2005.
From that service a Launch Team was formed that met at Jeremy’s home each week. The team consisted of about 12 families. Together they dreamed, prayed, planned and prepared to launch StoneWater Church.
One of the questions on everyone’s mind was, “Where will we meet?” God answered that prayer by providing the opportunity to meet at the Driftwood Theater. StoneWater Church officially launched meeting weekly at the Driftwood with over 190 people in attendance.
Since the launch, God has overwhelmed us with new families every week. Within a year the church outgrew the Driftwood and moved into a school. StoneWater currently meets at Texana Plaza, between Lowe’s and Wal-Mart in Granbury and at our satellite campuses in Glen Rose, Weatherford and Cleburne. On a typical Sunday, we will see over 3,000 men, women and children visit our four campuses. We have grown in community offering small group connections that are all about living in accountability and relationship with one another. We’ve also seen God fulfill the vision of starting churches as we have now directly planted or have been involved in starting churches in Weatherford, Stephenville, Cleburne, Glen Rose and two in San Diego, CA. StoneWater is fulfilling the mission God placed in our hearts.
Every ounce of credit for StoneWater Church goes to God. Without His vision, StoneWater would not exist.

SW Organizational Structure and Accountability
Accountability at StoneWater
Accountability:
In most thriving churches the pastors are both protected and held accountable by the structure. It is important that the pastors are protected legally, spiritually, emotionally and socially, so they can get their job done. Clearly Scripture teaches that pastors are ultimately accountable to God. At StoneWater we also have a board of directors who help protect and hold the pastors accountable.
StoneWater Advisory Board
1. The advisory board consists of four members.
2. The advisory board is chosen by the Lead Pastor.
3. The Lead Pastor serves as the chairman of the advisory board.
4. The board holds the Lead Pastor and staff accountable to the integrity of the church.
5. The board offers advice to the pastoral staff, but does not make the mission decisions of the Church.
6. The board sets the salary of the Lead Pastor and advises the salaries of the staff.
7. The board has the power to fire the Lead Pastor if the Lead Pastor harms the integrity of the Church.
8. In the event of sudden loss of the Lead Pastor, the highest ranking pastor from within the structure of StoneWater Church will assume the role of the interim Lead Pastor and together with the advisory board they will locate a permanent Lead Pastor. `

The Significance of the name “StoneWater”:
Where Did Our Name Come From?
Joshua 4:1-9 (NIV) (Emphasis added)
When the whole nation had finished crossing the Jordan, the Lord said to Joshua, “Choose twelve men from among the people, one from each tribe, and tell them to take up twelve stones from the middle of the Jordan from right where the priests stood and to carry them over with you and put them down at the place where you stay tonight.”
So Joshua called together the twelve men he had appointed from the Israelites, one from each tribe, and said to them, “Go over before the ark of the Lord your God into the middle of the Jordan. Each of you is to take up a stone on his shoulder, according to the number of tribes of the Israelites, to serve as a sign among you. In the future, when your children ask you, ‘What do these stones mean?’ Tell them that the flow of the Jordan was cut off before the ark of the covenant of the Lord. When it crossed the Jordan, the waters of the Jordan were cut off. These stones are to be a memorial to the people of Israel forever.”

StoneWater Logo Guidelines
-Any design with the StoneWater Logo or Emblem on it will require a request from comms (comms.stonewaterchurch.com)
This includes all merch, signs, stickers, banners, SWAG, promo items, name tags, etc.
Contact comms@stonewaterchurch.com if you have any questions about the use of the logo or how we can help!
Why does it even matter how I use the logo or if I want to make my own graphic?
As StoneWater Church grows, it is vitally important that our art, media, and communication create impressions that draw people into the church and, ultimately, a relationship with Christ.
These guidelines aren’t just a bunch of rules. They’re a set of principles and standards that help our staff, leaders, and vendors communicate our mission clearly and consistently.
Whether at a campus or at central, you represent StoneWater Church every time you use the logo. By following these guidelines, you reap the benefits of the StoneWater identity and contribute to its strength.
Whether seen on-screen, in print, or on apparel, the logo is stable. The identity can only make a positive impact if it is used consistently and correctly. Please reach out to us if you have any questions at all. We are here as a service to your ministry and want to run alongside you giving you all the tools you need! If you need a graphic, reach out to us via email or phone or online!
Where do I find the current SWC logo and emblem?
-After you read the Logo guidelines above you can find different file formats of the logo HERE. If you are not sure what file format to use, contact comms@stonewaterchurch.com
If you need a new graphic or need your graphic approved, go to comms.stonewaterchurch.com

TIPS for Taking great pictures and Videos!
Do:
Orient the video in landscape » Hold the phone sideways
Aim for 20-30 second video clips
Hold the phone as steady as you can and stand still
Stand with your feet shoulder width apart and hold your phone with your arms bent (this stance helps with stability)
Highlight people doing whatever they're doing » People don't have to "pose"
Get a variety of shots (some far away and some up close)
For still images, try to get people engaged in conversation or serving
If you need to zoom, physically move closer to what you're filming - if you zoom in with your phone, this causes the photo to become grainy
Don't:
Worry about sound quality in clips (unless you decide to do an interview)
Walk and shoot video because it's very bumpy
Zoom in (it lowers quality and makes it grainy, walk closer to what you're filming instead)
If you decide to do an interview:
Try your very best to limit background noise (any noise distorts audio quality)
Aim for 30-45 seconds (shorter is better)
Introduce who you're talking to
Pick one thing to talk about

Social Media
Guidelines to follow for Social Media postings
For Social Media posts, our main goal is to post inspiration so that our people will share with their friends!
*we are constantly trying to inspire and point people to Sunday morning services or the ministry we are promoting
All NEW graphics for events or ministries will be designed by Comms team (besides scripture graphics - see Tip #2 on where to use Scripture Graphics)
Tip #1 - FOMO is your friend! (fear of missing out)
*we create images as a teaser for our people, not to put as much text as possible in one image
**use the typed portion of your post to tell people about the event and ministry
**too much text on images drop down in the algorithm
POST PICS OF PEOPLE AT YOUR EVENT/MINISTRY - this is a great way to create FOMO
Tip #2 - If you want to post inspirational graphics (scripture graphics, etc) DO NOT design from scratch
-Use high-quality Graphics - free graphics and great ideas here:
https://www.creationswap.com/gallery?l=1
https://Sundaysocial.tv - (Comms can assign social media coordinators a subaccount for this one)
Please do not just gGoogle scripture graphics and grab one off Google images. These are poor quality and just don't fit the brand/look and feel of StoneWater Church.
Remember:
2000x2000 for socials with 75 dpi
-AGAIN PLEASE do not Google images or use generic stock images or clip art
Tip #3 - Don't add too much text to the graphic
-you get penalized on Facebook for using excessive text on your graphic - Facebook will change the algorithm of your post to appear lower on your followers home pages
Check out this resource to make sure you are not adding too much text to your graphic
http://www.social-contests.com/check-image/
-this is a great video talking about layout and composition with texts on graphics
https://pavilion.dinfos.edu/Article/Article/2705890/graphic-design-fundamentals-layout-composition/
Tip #4 (well, this is more of a requirement)
The S and the W are capitalized (from Centralhub.stonewaterchurch.com)
-SWC is an internal acronym and can only be used internally - remember, no insider lingo. It causes a disconnection to the people we are trying to reach.
Correct: StoneWater Church, StoneWater, SWC
Not Stonewater Church, Stone Water Church, SW, Stonewater
Tip #5 - Refrain from using too many font types
-Brandon Black Regular BOLD all CAPS is our main heading font
-Georgia Bold Italic is the secondary heading (and is never all caps)
-Georgia italic and regular are the paragraph text
You can download our fonts HERE:
Tip #6 - The StoneWater logo or the words StoneWater Church (in Brandon Black Regular BOLD all caps) should be placed on almost all graphics on social media. (also more of a requirement)
-This helps when your graphics are shared on social media
-make sure it is a small logo centered on bottom or the bottom corner
-you can do this with Canva, reach out to comms if you want to be added to the Canva membership! It is Free
Tip #7 - Post pictures of people at your campus
-you do not even need to put text over the picture! Include the details of what you are trying to say in the post
Tip #8 - It is ok to recycle scriptures and inspirational posts
- 3-6 months later, it is ok to recycle!
Tip #9 - Graphics should be consistent with the SWC theme
-man friendly, women honoring
Tip #10 - Do not post QR codes on Social Media posts

If this is a shirt design that already exists in your Connection Center, reach out to Travis Alexander or order HERE.
I know someone that wants to be a vendor for SWC. What is the process?
We love partnering with other vendors to do ministry. Whether it is shirts, banners, decals, or advertising your event with skywriting- we want to help. We have a few short guidelines we would love to go over with the vendor. You can have them contact the Comms team or we can reach out to them! Email comms@stonewaterchurch.com

Spaces and Places
Guidelines for Spaces and Places
Office Furniture in Individual and Shared Spaces:
StoneWater will provide a desk and chair, along with bookshelves, bookends, and storage bins for your ministry-related resources.
We will choose the items listed above from the approved list and strive for shared spaces to be matching or coordinating.
As a team, you may choose one color from the approved wall options.
You may choose 2 colors if there is a chair rail.
Decor in Shared Spaces:
A shared space is a workspace that accommodates different people, ministry needs, and personal style choices, so we believe that simple, clean and minimal is a plus.
Walls may be simply decorated with axioms, mission statements or ministry values that describe who you are as a group. Remember, a ministry space will look different than your living room.
Your desk is your space; decorate it as you like.
Decor in Individual Spaces:
An individual space is not only your own workspace, but one that accommodates the ministry needs of others stepping into your office, so we believe that simple, clean and minimal is a plus.
You are financially responsible for anything in addition to what has been provided by the church.
The Kitchen is a Shared Space.
Please keep all areas of the kitchen clean and organized. If you use the last of anything, please replace it. If you use the last of our back stock, tell the receptionist.
The Refrigerator:
Be mindful of others that need to refrigerate their lunches by taking the “needs to be refrigerated” stuff out of your lunchbox, and storing the lunchbox in your office.
Unlabeled items are assumed shareable, please refrain from using anything that is labeled.
Condiments are welcome. If you desire for your condiments not to be used by others, please make sure to write your name on them.
Please be responsible for your items, and throw them out or take them home if not eaten. The refrigerator will be cleaned out every Thursday at 3PM. If you need it to stay for the weekend, please label it as such.
The Coffee Spot:
If you spill something, take an extra 15 seconds to clean it up
If you notice the coffee supplies are getting low, please contact the receptionist, and s/he will reorder and restock.
The Microwave:
Cover your dish with your lid or a paper towel to prevent splatter.
If something splatters, spills, or boils over, clean it up promptly. Dried messes are more difficult to clean.
The Kitchen Sink/Counter/Dishwasher:
Hand wash and dry your dishes, and put them in their proper places.
If you use the dishwasher after an event, please schedule a time to empty it, and put things back where you found them.
The Tables:
Throw away the trash. Wipe up salt, pepper, or other spills.
Replace empty paper towel rolls.
Push in your chairs.
