At StoneWater, we believe a student’s 5th grade year is a key year in their spiritual growth. They’re not quite kids anymore, but they’re not quite teenagers either. We want to help them, and ultimately you as a parent, through this transition. That’s why we created Base Camp 5, a ministry specifically for your 5th grader. At BC5, your student will attend service with you. They will sit with you during the music portion of the service, but during the message, they’ll go back to the Connection Center. There they will join other 5th graders in a small group that helps them transition from a Kids Ministry environment to our Elevate Student Ministry that they can later attend as a 6th grader. You do not have to walk your student back to the Connection Center for drop-off, but you are certainly welcome to. At the conclusion of the church service, you’ll simply come back to the Connection Center and check out your student.
Base Camp 5 exists to equip students to be committed disciple-makers of Jesus Christ.
Why Just 5th Graders?
Base Camp 5 is a small group environment on Sunday mornings designed specifically for your 5th grader. BC5 closely follows our Elevate Student Ministry schedule, and meets during both services. It is designed to help your student transition from what they experienced in the 4th grade Wild Woods Ministry to the upcoming Elevate Student Ministry (Grades 6th-12th).
We encourage you to come to the Connection Center before or after service to get to know our BC5 Team and ask any questions that you may have. This gives you as a parent a great opportunity to meet the leaders who will be your second voice of encouragement, wisdom and truth.
Also, we have many opportunities for anyone to be a part of the BC5 Team as a small group leader. Let us help you find the perfect fit for you! Please complete the ministry application below and we will quickly get in touch with you! Serving at BC5 is a great way to invest in a younger generation and develop relationships with other adults while growing in your personal relationship with Jesus.
