What is Baptism?
Baptism is an act of obedience to Jesus and a visible declaration of the gospel. It identifies a believer with the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ.
When a believer is immersed beneath the water, it represents death to sin and the burial of their old life. Rising from the water represents new life in Jesus. Baptism also identifies a Christian with Jesus, the universal church, and the local church.
